Back in my heyday, there was a time when I shot up FOUR sizes in ONE year due to a steady diet of crap-food & beer. I remember the day it dawned on me that I had not only gained much (pounds) but lost much (self esteem).  Here's a pic of me back then. Good grief, I even look miserable! Thankfully, I had an ah-ha moment which led to a lifetime mission. I simply started eating right & exercising...daily. Seventeen years later, I am grateful to still be living that mission.  God, thank you for being there. You helped me gain back what I had lost & lost what I had gained. I have learned to give you my life, my body, my weaknesses & You have shown me Your grace.  I pray this encourages someone today.

How ironic. After almost a yr away from the gym due to an achillis injury that I allowed to take over. I just returned to gym last week. I have lost a total of 25 lbs since dec 15. However, without a constant diet of eating well n not what i want to eat and drink and daily exercise routine. I know i run the risk of gaining everything back. I turn 40 in November. It is very important to my health n for my children that I gain control of my health. I ask daily to God for his strength to help me through my craving and desires to drink and eat the unhealthy empty calories.

Thank you for your post.

I'm glad you added a spiritual element. For most people it's not that simple. Many of us have to deal with years of unhealthy eating issues based on lies we tell ourselves and sins we commit based on them.

So grateful you have been able to stay on course. :-)
