My Rx for Fear

I think there are fears like elevators & spiders--in the physical realm--that we can avoid. And then there are fears in the spiritual realm--that we can't necessarily avoid. Fears like rejection, criticism, anxiety or death. I fear rejection. It's so stupid! But after wrestling with it long enough, I got some good sense & got a prescription for it. If I start to fear, I "memorize & visualize." I'll memorize a bible verse like, "Do NOT be anxious about ANYTHING" (Phil. 4:6). And then I'll close my eyes & visualize God reaching His hands down from Heaven & letting me jump into them. What do you fear? And more importantly, what are you doing about it? Remember, our fears are NOT FROM GOD. Which means WITH GOD  & THRU GOD we have the power to get rid of 'em!

If by Rx, you mean my bottle of Pristiq - yeah, I'm all for it. I realize that God has given me the Word to walk me thru and hold my hand, but I've got to get calmed down enough myself to be able to hear Him over the noise of my pounding heart. Thank goodness, He provides me with both.

I battle with GAD (generalized Anxiety Disorder). It has only been 3 months since it started. I manage with deep breathing, prayer, and walks. I try to surround myself with people who are positive:) And I have worked very hard at turning negative thinking into positive thoughts:)
