All of us have weaknesses. But did you ever notice they change over time? Here's a broad look at my weaknesses over the course of my life:
-->Elementary - too impressionable-->Teens - peer pressure-->College - addictions-->Young Adult - low self esteem-->Adult - anxiety/insecurity

I look at this and it exhausts me. I realize that for ALL of my life, I've struggled, fought, lost & won against weaknesses of all shapes and sizes. Maybe you have too. Two encouraging thoughts...

One, we are in this together. You and me, standing shoulder-to-shoulder (& sometimes needing to lean on each other's shoulders). We are in our weaknesses but we are not alone.  Two, nobody said it better than our Savior when He exhorted Paul to say to us all, "My grace is enough; it's all you need. My strength comes into its own in your weakness." What are you struggling with? Take heart. I'm struggling too; we are in this together & we have HIS strength on our side!

Struggles are no fun. Mine is always with food - it is my enemy. I can go without food all day because my mind is on other things - then come supper, I overeat because I'm hungry, and then because my body thinks its in starvation mode, my body stores what I ate. Other times, when anxiety wells up or life just overwhelms me, I am reaching for junk food to calm the inner turmoil instead of going to God in prayer. It feels like a losing battle most times - but even now, I am back on the train to better health - but its hard to eat at regular times and eat healthily as well. Thanks for sharing, Heather ... its amazing what the Lord can heal when we confess it. :o)

What I love about you, and your writing is that you are so real. I think alot of my christian walk i've afraid or ashamed of being really transparent. Now, I realize part of what makes this journey easier is know you are not alone. I think in the last three years one of the best things I have learned is how to be real, open and honest. It helps me and I believe it encourages others. thank you for being so open..and thank God for His grace.

As I've aged I've come to realize that the struggles I've faced have revealed the areas of my life that I need God's help. Perhaps a positive perspective would be to appreciate the struggles because they make us aware that God is working on us and is with us to accomplish His purpose for us. It's when we quit struggling that we might need to be concerned. Having said this, may all of you reading this keep struggling, because in the end you win! :-))))))))
